About

My name is Neav Ziv, a student at B. Reed Henderson High School. Although I major in Computer Science, piano has always been a part of my life. Through all of life's journeys, whether happy, sad, or somewhere in between, I've always found the time to sit down and play my heart out.

The result has been something similar to therapy for me and I believe the same is true for other musicians.  Why shouldn't music be therapy? It gives people a voice to a part of them that can't speak but has so much to say, sometimes too much, to the point of overflowing.

Music is just that overflowing: it helps individuals vent, it helps offload their unconscious, and more than anything else it creates joy—out of sadness, out of boredom, out of anything and everything.

I believe that the feeling is alchemical, and it's a shame that more young people don't know this feeling because they've never had the wherewithal or the encouragement to make music.

With your help, I want to change that. I wish to make music more accessible. I want to give every student a chance at making music of their own, to assist them in finding a new hobby or path that might lead them to a brand-new page in their lives, or simply a new way of living.
